Why Mental Health First Aid Training
Matters in Malaysian Workplaces

Mental health challenges affect 1 in 4 people globally, with particularly concerning trends in Southeast Asia where approximately 260 million people live with mental health conditions in the WHO South-East Asia Region. In Malaysia specifically:

  • 1M individuals aged 15 years and above are suffering from depression

  • 55% experience depression

  • 53% experience anxiety

  • 18% of workplaces are classified as highly stressful, particularly in consumer services and retail sectors.

With only ⅓ (37%) of Malaysian employers acknowledging their current efforts to be only “adequate”, there is vast room for improvement (surveyed by Jobstreet). 

This half-day training workshop is designed to equip individuals with essential mental health first aid skills to recognise, understand, and respond appropriately to mental health challenges in the workplace. It is our aim and intention to support the growth of mentally aware workplaces where employees feel supported, valued, and equipped to help one another navigate mental health challenges with confidence and compassion.
